- Take an approved vacation or personal holiday on the day of your campus walkout.
- Participate in the CFA picket lines or rallies during your lunch or breaks.
The CSU has issued a letter to many Chapter Presidents stating that:
“Due to these extraordinary circumstances, employees calling in sick may be required to obtain a doctor’s note for the absence to be excused.” Please understand that should this occur CSUEU will take immediate action to enforce your rights under the contract which states (Article 15.7):
An employee may be required to provide a physician’s statement or other appropriate verification when absent five (5) or more consecutive days due to illness/injury.
(Common sense would dictate that if you are out on sick leave, you should not show up on a picket line.)
If previously approved vacation, personal holiday or CTO are cancelled, contact your campus steward or LRR immediately. CSUEU believes this would be a violation of our contract.
These are difficult times for everyone in the CSU community. It is important to do what we can to support our union brothers and sisters in their fight for a contract.
