"The budget adopted by the Assembly early this morning is one of the most immoral proposals I have seen in my more than 30 years in Sacramento.
"To take funds away from public services and education for our growing population and give them to special interests through tax breaks is outrageous. For example, how can the Assembly find $500 million to give to rich folks in tax cuts, but fail to find $28 million to fully fund the California State University budget? How can they justify taking money away from public transportation and giving it to millionaire film producers?
"This irresponsible proposal is further proof that our budget process is tied in knots by the anti-government zealots who refuse to fund the future to provide adequate public services for our citizens."
