STATE SENATE FAILS TO AGREE ON BUDGET; GOP DEMANDS MORE CUTS

Calls needed today to protect CSU Funding and negotiated contracts. Calls are needed to Republican state Senators NOW (numbers below).

Last Thursday your calls made the difference. A proposal in the state Assembly to cut 1% of the CSU's "Compact" funding from 4% to 3% or about $28 million was dropped after hundreds called Assembly leaders.

Over the weekend, the risk of cuts resurfaced in the state Senate.

THE MESSAGE

Keep in the state budget all the California State University funding promised by the governor and adopted by the state Assembly on Friday. Any loss of this funding would mean slashing classes for students, cutting new student enrollment, and reopening CSU employee contracts.
