Retro checks - clarification

We have seen email from some campuses questioning whether there is enough time to process retroactive checks before the holidays.

We asked for clarification from the Chancellor’s Office and were told that the December 14th checks will be only for the 3.457% General Salary Increase (GSI). Campuses will deliver them as soon as they have finished their verification process.

Employees who are eligible for Service Salary Increases (SSIs) and whose anniversary dates are between July 2007 and December 2007 – will probably see their retroactive SSI checks in January. It takes campuses a bit longer to process SSIs because they have to be done manually. In addition, employees who were not previously eligible for SSIs, but who will be eligible for them now, will have to have an anniversary date established, pursuant to the terms of Article 20, Section 20.30 (H). If that date has already passed, the check will be issued retroactively.
