The California State University (CSU) Board of Trustees appear set to approve more exorbitant pay raises for their top executives while once again hiking student fees at their first meeting of the new school year on Tuesday and Wednesday in Long Beach.

  

In letters to the CSU Chancellor and the Board of Trustees Chair, Garamendi voiced opposition to executive pay increases.

  

CSUEU/SEIU Local 2579 has sharply criticized CSU Chancellor Charles Reed in response to his announcement of double-digit salary increases for campus presidents and other top CSU executives.

The state Senate narrowly approved a long-overdue $103 billion budget Tuesday, ending a 52-day delay that stopped payments to vendors and threatened scores of state-supported health-care facilities with closure.
