What really makes the increase unconscionable is the disproportionate harm it inflicts on Central Valley universities such as Cal State Bakersfield.

  

It will cost students more money to attend the California State University system this fall.

  

With faculty labor unrest nearing the boiling point, the California State University system's governing board is expected to push two financial hot buttons this week: increases in student fees and a six-figure going-away payment to a campus president.

  

UC students are taking action to hold the Governor and the legislature accountable to their commitment to an affordable and accessible higher education in 2007-2008.

  

"SB 190 will bring much needed sunshine to these discussions, provide members of the media the democratic access they deserve, and help restore the public's trust," said Senator Yee at a press conference held at SFSU.
