While students face tuition increases and professors walk picket lines over salary beefs, state education officials gave raises yesterday to top executives. The California State University's presidents and five top administrators, got 4 percent salary boosts from the system's trustees, raising their pay to between $239,000 and $377,000 annually. Twenty-eight of the California State University system's highest-paid executives are in line for another pay raise this week -- just days after students learned they could face a 10 percent tuition increase next fall.

The Governor's Budget supports a total compensation package of 4.25%, which is 1% less than the 5.25% package we negotiated for FY 07/08.
