With a rousing and well-attended rally on City Hall steps, the San Francisco State chapter of the Alliance for the CSU teamed with San Francisco City Supervisor Tom Ammiano on Tuesday, May 20, 2008, to successfully push for a city resolution in support of funding for public higher education.

On May 7, 2008, the CSU Employees Union rejected the CSU roadmap proposal, in large part over compensation issues involving employees moving into the new LSS series. As an alternative, we presented our first counter-proposal to the CSU proposal of February 18, 2008. Download the Adobe Reader version of this report.

As of mid-May, the CSUEU and CSU have begun contract negotiations. A recap of recent developments: The 2006/2009 Contract between CSUEU and CSU provided for wage increases in FY 2007 and FY 2008 that were predicated on the assumption that the CSU would receive one per cent above the “compact” between the Governor and the Chancellor.
