News about CSUEU and our efforts to bargain strong, effective contracts for members. (Only articles posted within the last year will be displayed.)

For the state public employee unions whose contracts come up this year, the timing couldn't be worse.

Where can I find the classification standards for the new LSS series? Has the LSS series been implemented yet? What was the outcome of the Unit Modification hearing? What is the next step?

CSU sends CSUEU implementation proposal. On January 24, 2008, the Public Employment Relations Board (PERB) ruled that the proposed classification of Library Services Specialist (LSS) should be placed in Bargaining Unit (BU) 9. PERB had held two days of hearings in October 2007, during which CSU Employees Union (CSUEU) and CSU testified that the LSS classification shared a “community of interest” with other BU 9 classifications and should be placed in BU 9.

CSUEU and CSU have reached an agreement on the distribution of $1.6 million in system-wide funds for in-range progressions. There will also be $700 bonuses for those employees at or above the SSI maximum. Please read the latest Contract Negotiations News, as well as the full text of the agreement.

January 11, 2008. Gov. Schwarzenegger has proposed to cut $312.9 million from the California State University system. This latest blow to the CSU budget follows the half billion dollars cut in 2002. The governor has abandoned the Higher Education Compact. Compensation increases in every CSU union contract are at risk.
