This blog is intended to provide information, insight and viewpoints on the CSU state budget. Much of the information may become outdated as the budget process can be very fluid as it moves forward through the Legislature. The blog will try to identify direct impacts to CSU campuses and CSUEU represented employees.

I have sent a letter to the CSU Chancellor regarding the $305 million of funds restored in the Governor's proposed budget he presented on January 8th.  Next week the CSU board of Trustees meets and will review the CSU budget: calstate.edu/bot/agendas/index.shtml

The State Budget Battle for 2008-2009 is over with the Governor signing the budget yesterday. The budget solves little and merely gets the state by for another year. The projections for next year indicate at least a $1.6 billion shortfall and the current budget assumes $5 billion in borrowing from the state lottery.
