HOWTO: How To do something - one in an occasional series. Today's article applies only to CSUEU officers and CSEA employees with Citrix access.
When you login to Citrix, the list of printers you can select are copied from your local laptop or desktop. This can cause problems, because even if you have a printer at 1108 O Street configured on your computer, if you login to Citrix from outside the building, you won't be able to print to the office.
Here's how to add an O St. printer within Citrix in a special way that allows you to send print jobs to it when you are home. Using this method, I can print a document to the CSUEU Xerox photocopier in Sacramento while at home in Los Angeles.
Login to Citrix. Click Start, then Settings, then Printers and Faxes. Double-click the Add Printer icon. This opens the Add Printer Wizard. At the welcome screen, click Next. At the Local or Network Printer screen, just click Next again. At the Specify a Printer screen, click Next again. (The...

The Tidbit of the Day – one in an occasional series here at Inside CSUEU. From Robert’s Rules of Order, section 41, page 363: Unless a precirculated agenda is formally adopted at the session to which it applies, it is not binding as to detail or order of consideration, other than as it lists preexisting orders of the day (pp. 353ff.) or conforms to the standard order of business (pp. 24-25, 342ff.) or an order of business prescribed by the rules of the organization (pp. 15-17, 24).

For nomination committees: Here's what to do (in brief) at the close of your chapter election nominations period:
1. Decide if you want to hold local chapter balloting or have HQ conduct mail balloting. Tell Dayna Ramos (dramos@calcsea.org) your decision.
1a. Email Dayna (dramos@calcsea.org) and tell her the date your nominations closed and that you are sending the nomination forms.
2. Bundle up all received chapter nomination forms and FAX them to Dayna. Keep the originals for now - we'll ask you to mail the originals along with all other paperwork at the end of elections.
3. For any position that has only one nomination form received, the only person who nominated wins by acclimation. Congratulate them and make an announcement locally, and notify Dayna (dramos@calcsea.org), myself (rgrant@calcsea.org).
