Our next CSU Labor Council meeting will be held on Tuesday, March 24,
at the Renaissance Hotel on Pine and Ocean in Long Beach. As usual,
the meeting will be held upon adjournment of the CSU Board of
Trustees meeting (usually around 5 PM).

The agenda will include bargaining reports, legislative reports, CSU
budget, the "trigger," the May 19th election, and whatever other
items folks would like to discuss.

This meeting is open to any CSUEU member. I encourage anyone in the Long Beach area to drop by after work.

• Strategic planning workshop (closed, not defined as a meeting): April 4 at O St.
• Strategic planning workshop (closed): May 16, Holiday Inn Capitol Plaza, Sacramento
• Board of Directors meeting (open session): June 6, Fairmont, San Jose
• Board of Directors meeting (open session): September 3, Westin Bonaventure, Los Angeles

A little background: there are two types of Chapter elections in CSUEU. Some Chapters choose to hold local balloting, where ballot station(s) are set up on the campus and members vote in person. These Chapters tabulate the ballots on their campuses and FAX in to CSUEU Sacramento office the results.

A Chapter can set any date for its election, as long as they finish by April 1. Some Chapters are already done with elections and have sent in results; some Chapters are finished but have not yet sent in results to CSUEU, and some Chapters have not yet held their local elections.

For Chapters holding local balloting, CSUEU can only announce results that the Chapter nominations committee has reported to our Sacramento office.

Since some Chapters already finished balloting, we already have issued two interim election results.

Chapters who are holding mail ballot elections, where the ballots are distributed from and returned to our Sacramento office by mail, will have their ballot tabulation...

The CSU Board of Trustees is meeting on March 24 and 25. The schedule and agendas are posted.

My favorite item is the litigation report in the Committee of the Whole.

Typically, the CSU Labor Council meets the evening of the first day of the Trustees meeting. When I have details, I’ll post them here.

This Sunday, CSEA IT will be performing maintenance on CSUEU’s computer network from 8 a.m. to noon. During this maintenance window, www.csueu.org and www.calcsea.org may be unavailable, along with other technology resources.
