Tabulation of General Council ballots is scheduled to occur May 20 through 22 at CSUEU’s offices in downtown Sacramento. Tabulation will be conducted by a team of four members. If you’re interested in joining the team, please email rgrant@calcsea.org by 1 a.m. this Thursday.

The notice of Statewide Officer elections and nomination form is available here. Note that nominations will be accepted on the floor of the election meeting just prior to balloting. A candidate may choose to be nominated in advance or at the meeting.

All ballots for General Council elections were mailed yesterday today. Each member should receive one at their home address.

We have about 55 members who we suspect have incorrect addresses in our database. These members had ballots mailed to the suspected bad addresses, regardless.

If you don’t receive a ballot within two weeks, you can call 866-763-1452 to request a replacement ballot.

I would like to invite you to an open forum to discuss elections processes for CSUEU. Now that Chapter elections are complete (except for run-offs), there is great interest in making changes to our business processes to improve our next election cycle in two years.

Next Friday, the Bylaws & Policy committee will begin discussion on this topic. As Vice President for Organizing, I would like to make some recommendations to the committee, but I would like to hear your input first.

I am pleased to be joined on the call by committee chair Christine Thomas, who will be co-hosting the call with me.
