The agendas are not posted for the July 21 Board of Trustees meeting at the Chancellor’s Office in Long Beach. Of note: the Committee on University and Faculty Personnel will amend Title 5 of the California Code of Regulations to authorize furloughs for non-represented (MPP and Confidential) employees, and the Committee on Finance will increase the state university fee. This note was posted on the website: Beginning July 21st 2009, you will be able to listen to a live audio stream of the Board of Trustees meeting. Only the public open sessions will be available. I’m looking forward to the live audio stream.

On July 7, I appeared before the CSU Board of Trustees to call on them to place the audio of their meetings - both live and recorded - online so everyone can participate in the governance of the CSU. Listen to my comments: MP3, 228K download The voice you hear after me is the Chair responding to my comments; the audio was recorded using a pocket recorder on the public speaker's podium, and did not record the Chair's response very well. On July 9, I made a request to the Trustee Secretary to obtain a copy of the CSU's official audio recording to the meeting. When I receive that recording, it will be posted here.
