On Monday, March 1, CSU Humboldt administration gave CSUEU notice that it would be implementing a partial layoff of 55 Bargaining Unit 7 and 9 positions effective July 1 or later, but that none of the employees was currently set to be fully laid off.
Instead, impacted workers are scheduled to transition to other full-time or reduced-time positions on campus in coming months. Chapter leaders have met with management to gather information. With the VP for Representation, they will soon be assigning members to the bargaining team; once that has been done, they will set dates and get to the table with management. The CSUEU bargaining team is made up of both local and statewide leaders, and management’s bargaining team is typically made up of both local and Office of the Chancellor managers.
