CSU Board of Trustees to vote on pay hikes for new presidents, CSUEU statewide election results, Election Committee Chair Andrew Coile shares his thoughts on the statewide elections, and more!

This July 18 KABC-TV Los Angeles news coverage of pay hikes for incoming CSU campus presidents features CSUEU members Mike Chavez and Rich McGee speaking out about the need to curb executive raises and support university workers. Also on July 18, CSU Fresno Chapter 309 President Nancy Kobata was interviewed for a KGPE-TV report.   

July 17, 2012 -- Pat Gantt characterized pay hikes for several incoming CSU campus presidents as "insensitive, rude, ill-advised, and poorly timed" in a statement released this afternoon.   

As outlined in this July 17 Los Angeles Times article, the CSU Board of Trustees has approved pay raises for several incoming campus presidents despite criticism from students and faculty that the money would be better spent on academic programs.   

In this July 6 press release, Governor Brown announced his appointment of Lupe Garcia of Gap Inc. and Hugo Morales of Radio Bilingüe Inc. as new CSU trustees.

June 28, Washington, D.C. – SEIU President Mary Kay Henry issued this statement in response to the decision by the U.S. Supreme Court today to uphold the Affordable Care Act as fully constitutional, including expansion of care to 32 million Americans, a range of consumer protections from insurance company abuses, the creation of competitive marketplaces in states for individuals to purchase lower cost insurance, and quality of care improvements.
