This Library Services Specialist Bulletin, one in a series, outlines results of CSUEU-CSU contract negotiation meetings held the week of October 20.
After two days of bargaining at the Chancellor’s Office, CSUEU has made progress on non-economic issues.
CSU management and CSUEU continued discussions on a process for reviewing Library Assistant job descriptions and on the timeline for reclassification into the Library Services Specialist series.
The Chancellor’s Office has expressed interest in a classification appeal process, originally proposed by your bargaining team, that would significantly decrease the likelihood that employees would be misclassified at the end of the process.
The Chancellor's Office continues to claim there is no money to compensate these employees for the added scope of their duties, and your bargaining team continues to insist that any agreement which involves increasing the breadth of these employees’ duties cannot come without fair compensation. To date, however, there has been no progress on compensation.
We are currently awaiting a response to our last proposal.
