Chapter Elections

The term of the current Chapter Executive Board is coming to an end so we are beginning the election process for new 3 year terms. The process begins with a nomination period. The nomination period is now open and will end on Monday, February 8, 2012 at 12:30 p.m. Each candidate must complete a "Nomination and Consent Form". Completed forms must be turned in to Rick Dietz (L210E) no later than 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, February 8, 2012. The positions open are:

Chapter President
Chapter Vice President
Chapter Secretary
Chapter Treasurer
Campus Bargaining Unit Representatives (Units 2, 5, 7 & 9)
Chapter Organizing Committee Chairperson

Download Nomination and Consent Form (PDF format) and print.  Return completed forms to Rick Dietz (L210E) no later than 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, February 8, 2012.

The actual vote for the chapter board positions will be handled by union headquarters via a mail-in ballot. You should expect to receive your ballot at your home address around March 1, 2012. Completed ballots must be received by CSUEU Headquarters by the date specified in the ballot instructions.

All CSUEU Members are eligible to participate.

Non-members who join prior to elections deadlines are eligible to participate.

If you are a CSUEU member and cannot attend the meeting because of assignment, night/swing shift or other work schedule, please contact the Chapter Nominations Committee to be provided information.

Description of CSUEU 308 Chapter Officers

Chapter President:
Shall preside at all meetings, including meetings of the Executive Board;
review work of chapter officers and committees; ensure adherence to stated
duties and responsibilities; represent the chapter in a professional manner
to the community and campus; serves on the CSU Division Council; and be
familiar with contract language, Chapter Bylaws, CSU Division Policy File,
and Roberts' Rules of Order. Must complete Basic Steward Training within
six months of election.

Chapter Vice President:
Shall act for, and in the place of, or in the absence of, the President;
serve on the Executive Board; be familiar with contract language, Chapter
Bylaws, CSU Division Policy File and Robert's Rules of Order. Must complete
Basic Steward Training within six months of election.

Chapter Secretary:
Provides written records of all Chapter Executive and Membership meetings;
serves on the Executive Board; is familiar with contract language, Chapter
Bylaws, CSU Division Policy File and Robert's Rules of Order. Must complete
Basic Steward Training within six months of election.

Chapter Treasurer:
Maintains appropriate accounting for all chapter revenues according to
established procedures; serves on the Executive Board; is familiar with
contract language, Chapter Bylaws, CSU Division Policy File and Robert's
Rules of Order. Must complete Basic Steward Training within six months of
election.

Chapter Bargaining Unit Representatives:
Serves as a voting member of the Executive Board; serves as primary steward
and communications contact for employees in their respective bargaining
unit. Must complete Basic Steward Training within six months of election.

Chapter Organizing Committee Chairperson:
This person would identify and chair an on-campus committee, which would be
charged with the development of campus programs to promote membership
recruitment and fair share fee payer conversion; and coordinate the system
wide approved campus activities.

General Council Delegates/Alternates

This election covers the delegates and alternates from each chapter to represent CSUEU at the CSEA General Council meeting. Chapters receive one delegate for each 100 members or major fraction thereof, as counted on the membership record date, which is 120 days before the general session of the General Council. A chapter may have no less than one delegate, regardless of the membership count. The Chapter President also serves as General Council Delegate for the chapter. All members in good standing will vote upon the delegates.

Candidates for General Council Delegates/Alternates must complete a "General Council Delegate/Alternates Nomination and Consent Form". Completed forms must be turned in to Rick Dietz (L210E) no later than 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, February 8, 2012.
