2018 in Legislative
The CSU is mounting an aggressive campaign to block Gov. Brown from signing our CSUEU-sponsored "Steps Bill" AB 1231 (Weber). The legislation, authored by Assemblymember Dr. Shirley Weber to reinstate 5% annual merit salary step increases for CSU support staff, has cleared the Legislature and awaits the governor's signature. Make sure your voice is heard!
Is sending a letter to Gov. Brown worth a 5% annual salary increase to you? We hope so. There are two ways to get your message through and you can do both.
The easy way is to send an email. Click here. Or you can send a personal letter - this has more impact.
* Use the talking points of the sample letter as a guide for your HAND WRITTEN or TYPED letter. DO NOT simply copy the letter and sign it. It will be ignored by the Governor's staff. It is IMPORTANT that you make your letter personal.
4 EASY STEPS
* Include one or more of the AB 1231 sample letter talking points. "Stay on message!" and DO NOT alter the bulleted talking points. Simply choose the arguments that you want to include.
* ADD your personal story.
* DON'T DELAY! Personal letters represent hundreds of constituents in the eyes of the Governor.
* Mail your letter today to:
Governor Jerry Brown, The State Capitol, Sacramento CA 95814
We encourage you to mail your letter to Governor Brown immediately! If you cannot mail your letter, you may drop off an unsealed letter to your chapter president for delivery.
Your chapter president will mail collected letters to the new CSUEU headquarters at:
CSUEU, 120 K Street, 2nd Floor, Sacramento, CA 95814
