Bargaining Continues as Management Proposes Gutting IRP Requests from Employees

The CSUEU bargaining team met with CSU management to continue full contract bargaining, with the latest session held at the Office of the Chancellor on August 7-10.

CSU management continued to present their management views, but in a slightly more collegial tone than some of the previous bargaining sessions. The CSUEU bargaining team worked hard to produce proposals that addressed our members concerns at the bargaining table, with the strong support of CSUEU members who work at the Chancellor’s Office.

CSU management is still unresponsive to the issue of movement through the salary range, as they have rejected a Service Salary Increase (SSI) proposal from the CSUEU bargaining team that would assure uniform movement through the range on an annual basis.  CSU management also wants to abolish the ability of individual employees to request In-Range Progression (IRP). The CSUEU bargaining team has not yet responded to this hostile proposal.

Bargaining will resume at the Office of the Chancellor on August 30-31, and again on September 6-8 at the San Jose campus.  We encourage every member to be ready and support the bargaining process and pay attention to your chapter’s announcements on how you can get involved.
