Dear Chapter 315,
Thank you for visiting our website! On behalf of the Chapter 315 Executive Board, I encourage you to take some time to learn more about the California State University Employees Union (CSUEU) and your rights as an employee of CSU Long Beach.
CSUEU is the exclusive representative of employees in Units 2, 5, 7, and 9 at the 23 campuses and the Chancellor’s Office that make up the CSU system. CSUEU represents over 16,000 employees in this system and negotiates the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) that governs the relationship between the CSU management and our represented employees. This includes salary structure, workplace environment concerns, and classification standards that affect all of us.
In addition to enforcing the CBA, CSUEU representatives, including stewards, executive officers, and members, work together to ensure that we have a hazard free workplace and one free of bullying or abusive conduct. CSUEU also works to maintain the excellent level of benefits that we enjoy including, but not limited to, health insurance, Cal Pers pension plan, generous sick and vacation days, and the fee waiver program.
If you haven’t already done so, please fill out a membership application to become a member. High membership is absolutely vital to our fight to protect and advance our rights! It strengthens our union and has a positive impact on the lives of represented staff, our families, our campus, and our community.
In addition to the contract articles we negotiate and protect, CSUEU maintains a very active presence at the State Capitol advocating in support of initiatives and legislation that directly impact the wages, rights, and working conditions of CSUEU represented employees. Funding for these efforts comes from voluntary contributions to our non-partisan Political Activities Committee (PAC). Please sign up to support our PAC today!
We are fortunate to have dedicated volunteers who regularly give their time and effort in support of our chapter. Volunteer opportunities include staffing chapter meetings, supporting our Contract Action Team before and during contract negotiations, seeking donations for our holiday meeting, signing up new members, becoming a steward, and more. Please contact one of us if you are interested in volunteering.
As always, if you have any questions about your rights or you need representation, please reach out to one of us!
