ASC II Hiring and Promotion Cease & Desist Letter

Unit 7 Employees,

Your CSUEU LRR, Brian Young, has sent a cease and desist letter to SDSU HR regarding the current non-compliant hiring practices.  In summary, it has come to our attention that the knowledge and skills required for the majority of the ASC II positions on campus are actually in-line with the AAS classification standards.  Of particular concern is the requirement of a college degree for a classification that lists a high school or vocational program as the typical standard for achieving the appropriate skills for the job.  The ASC classification is predominately staffed by women giving rise to our concern regarding discrimination.

The letter was sent to Associate Vice President Jessica Rentto.  A complete copy of the letter is attached.

Please join us at the upcoming chapter meeting in early April, date and time will be announced soon.

Your CSUEU Chapter 318 Unit 7 Representative
