CSU Imposes Step Structure—But Our Stand for Full Steps Continues
- On October 1, CSU will move forward implementing the Salary Step structure, granting only a one-step increase to those that fall within the salary table, while ignoring the Legislature’s full funding for Staff (any increase will be reflected in your November pay warrant & moving forward). This is their attempt to quiet us, but we know the truth. Our petition for full steps already has more than 5,000 signatures, and the stronger we stand together, the harder it will be for CSU to deny us what we’ve earned.
- Members: Keep up the momentum: sign the petition if you haven’t already and encourage your co-workers to do the same. We will submit it to CSU management in October. Every signature, every action, every act of solidarity strengthens our position as we prepare for the next phase of this campaign, even up to a strike if that’s what it takes.
- Note: We may return to the table in reopener bargaining, and if we do, we’ll keep you updated.
- We intend to push to win full steps when we are back at the table along with addressing represented employees who fell off the salary table during full contract negotiations in 2026. We plan to mobilize all resources to make it happen.
