Union Announcements
Thank you to everyone who joined the 2026 Winter Chapter Meeting Wednesday. If you weren’t able to attend, see the resources below.
-
- Free swag for attendees
- Use and reuse your union swag at upcoming actions. See the attached image to view swag available. Contact Julie M. for the swag item you want and which cubical to deliver it. Note: if interested in a t-shirt, then please indicate the size desired.
- First activity: Employees across all campuses will participate in a statewide “Blue Out” to show solidarity and collective strength on January 27th (Board of Trustees meeting). Wearing blue and/or union swag shows you stand with your co-workers and the CSUEU presents its Sunshine proposal to the CSU.
- Meeting materials
- Members: complete the Bargaining Survey
- This is how you directly shape bargaining priorities.
- Red-circled employee input from the November meeting
Note: These ideas are not finalized. They only move forward if members submit them in large numbers through the survey.
- Salary Structure Adjustments (SSA): Raise salary ranges so red-circled employees can return to a scale and receive future increases.
- Longevity Pay: Add compensation recognizing years of service for employees who have topped out or been pushed off range.
- Pensionable Compensation: Reject one-time payments in favor of increases that count toward CalPERS.
- Separate Reopener Effort: Push CSU to use the $144M in state funds for base pay, not temporary bonuses.
- Have additional ideas?
- Share them in the survey.
- Non red-circled members
- Use the survey to clearly state what you want in the next contract.
Ø Lobby Days 2026 – April 13-14
· Labor Days is when members travel to Sacramento to meet with their state legislators and advocate for CSU employees. This two-day training and lobbying event, led by the statewide Legislative Committee, focuses on fair pay, strong benefits, and safe workplaces. If you’re a member & interested, please complete the short survey to learn more and help us plan participation. When approved, your travel and room will be covered by CSUEU.
Ø Other Activities happening in the CSU
· Over 800 student workers at Beach Shops and ASI Long Beach have organized to join CSUEU. Employees in dining, recreation, childcare, and campus services will vote to unite with staff and student workers, strengthening collective power across the CSU workforce.
