Union Announcements
- Teamsters Strike
- Teamsters, our Skilled Trade coworkers, are on strike through Thursday the 20th. Like CSUEU members in Units 5, 7, and 9, they are demanding that CSU honor its commitments and treat workers fairly.
- There are several ways to show support: join them on your break, wear your blue CSUEU gear in solidarity, or if you are really bold, strike with them!
When one group is pushed, we all feel it. Standing together protects all of us. We support our Teamster brothers and sisters!
- Unit 9 Update, Especially Red Circled Staff
- We are finalizing details for March sessions focused on Unit 9. These meetings will explain how the bargaining team is representing you and what comes next. Your input matters. The 2026 Bargaining Survey remains open so members can define priorities. If you are not yet a member, this is the time to join.
- Any member from any unit can complete the 2026 Bargaining Survey.
- Membership
- We need to be honest. Membership has declined due to retirements and turnover. Fewer members means less leverage at the table. Less leverage weakens our ability to win strong contracts.
- The facts matter. Our last contract secured at least a 10% raise over its term, the strongest results in 20 years! That happened because members showed up. If we want similar or better outcomes, we must rebuild momentum now.
- Any represented employee from any unit can join CSUEU.
- What Is Happening Across California
- Support is growing in the State Assembly regarding executive pay increases granted while staff raises lag and tuition continues to rise.
- If this concerns you, act! Contact your State Assembly member and ask them to support Assembly Bill 1831. AB 1831 would limit executive raises during tuition increases and require the Board of Trustees to reverse recent executive pay hikes.
- You can find your Assembly member on the California State Assemby website.
If we want change, we cannot wait for someone else to do it. Collective action is how working people protect their future.
