Union Announcements

Ø  Unit 9 Meeting Reminder

o   Join us next Tuesday, March 24 at 12:00 pm in the Wallace Room for an important in-person Unit 9 kick-off meeting, with special focus on Red Circled employees. We will walk through where things stand with CSUEU and CSU and talk about the practical steps we can take to strengthen our bargaining position. This is about protecting what we have earned and pushing forward together. Come ready to listen, share, and take action.

o   Pizza and drinks will be served to those that show up in person.  Save your spot!  An invite will be going out to Unit 9 represented employees Wednesday, March 18.

Ø  Collective Power Gets Results

    • This is what collective power delivers! We pushed back on CSU’s broken promise of full Salary Steps, and Public Employment Relations Board (PERB) has now issued a complaint, affirming that CSU failed to bargain in good faith. That is real accountability, but it is only the beginning. CSU must now defend why it redirected a $143 million public loan away from staff and tried to substitute lasting salary growth with a one time payout. Progress is happening because we are standing together, and the next step is ours. Stay engaged, if you are an active member, and join your Contract Action Team (CAT) that Karen Malone is leading, and help keep the pressure on because forward movement only happens when we act collectively.  Add your name by responding to the survey and be part of the team.

§   If you are not a member yet, now is the time to JOIN CSUEU and be part of the force that gets results.

  • No Kings Day – Saturday, March 28
    • CSUEU members are mobilizing this month to defend public higher education and demonstrate what collective action looks like in real time. When we show up in numbers, we build the skills and momentum needed to win on our campuses. Join staff and student assistants across California at a No Kings action near you, and RSVP so we can stand together, organized and ready to move forward.
  • Assembly Bill 1831 (AB1831)
    • Why This Matters to All of Us at the Chancellor’s Office
      • AB1831 isn’t just about faculty—it’s about fairness across the entire CSU workforce. While executives pad the top, represented staff are told to “tighten belts,” delay hires, and accept crumbs at the bargaining table. Capping runaway executive pay sends a clear message: public dollars should support public workers, not golden parachutes. When the top is held accountable, it strengthens every contract fight—from raises to staffing to respect on the job.
      • Solidarity works. Call or email your Assemblymember and demand they support limits on CSU executive pay. Our voices matter—use them. Find your Assembly member on the California State Assembly website.
  • Ways Members Can Stay Engaged and Strengthen Our Voice
    • Stay informed. Join a BU 7 or BU 9 Committee meeting through the CSUEU calendar. Hear directly from Business Unit leadership. Know what is moving across the system.
    • Shape our next contract. Complete the 2026 Bargaining Survey and tell the Bargaining Team exactly what matters to you. Submit more than one proposal if you have them. This is how we set priorities.
    • Build influence at the state level. Contribute a small monthly amount to the CSUEU Political Action Committee (PAC). Collective dollars create collective power.
