2014 in Bargaining, Union News
Following earlier ratification by the California State University Employees Union, the California State University Board of Trustees unanimously voted today to approve a new contract.
The agreement, which is effective today through June, 2017, covers more than 15,000 CSU classified staff members, including administrative and technical support, as well as healthcare and service workers. Compensation portions of the contract are retroactive to July 1, 2014.
“We are very pleased with such a positive contract,” said CSUEU VP for Representation Alisandra Brewer. “For the first time, our contract includes salary increases that are guaranteed, rather than being tied to future state funding. The resulting stability will allow us to focus on enforcement, on organizing efforts against outsourcing, and on improving working conditions for all of our represented employees.”
