After the end of the nomination period for CSUEU statewide elections on May 15, the Elections Committee met and reviewed the candidates. With several positions unopposed, the Committee voted each unopposed candidate into office.
The following positions have been declared elected:

Pete Rauch, San Marcos, Vice President for Organizing
Terrance Wilson, Fresno, Vice President for Finance
Jessica Westbay, Chico, Vice President for Representation
Bargaining Unit 2:
Chair, Tessy Reese, San Diego
Vice Chair, Pam Robertson, Sacramento
Bargaining Unit 5:
Vice Chair, Tyree Mikes, Long Beach
Bargaining Unit 7:
Dawn McCulley, Stanislaus, Chair
John Ciulik, Long Beach, Vice Chair
The following positions are contested:
Bargaining Unit 5 Chair:
Fortunado Garcia (Incumbent), Fresno
Tyree Mikes (Challenger), Long Beach
Bargaining Unit 9 Chair:
Rich McGee (Incumbent), San Bernardino
Marty Brenner (Challenger), Long Beach
Bargaining Unit 9 Vice Chair:

Those who serve in At Large positions in each unit are able to run from the floor, thus none can be declared in office until after elections. Statewide Elections will be held June 25-27.
Every three years, CSUEU holds elections for statewide Officers (President, Vice President for Organizing, Vice President for Finance, Vice President for Representation); and Chairs and Vice Chairs for Bargaining Units 2, 5, 7, and 9. All union members in good standing may run for and be elected for the Officer positions. Those with certified steward status are eligible for election to the offices of Chair and Vice-Chair of their respective statewide Bargaining Unit Council.
The electorate for these positions are the four Officers and Chapter Bargaining Unit Representatives of their respective units.
Prohibited election activities and conduct are listed in Policy File Section 604.00 (See Page 4).
Roles of Officers
President: Is the chief executive officer; supervises, directs and manages the CSUEU activities, affairs and other officers.
Vice President for Organizing: Has the primary responsibility to develop and implement all organizing and recruitment activities of the Union.
Vice President for Finance: Is the Chief financial officer of the CSUEU.
Vice President for Representation: Is responsible for the coordination, training, development, and operations of the Corporation’s representation program.
Responsibilities of Bargaining Unit Councils
The Bargaining Unit Councils are solely responsible for the formulation of initial bargaining proposals and the selection of the bargaining committee for full contract negotiations and scheduled re-openers of the contract. Between negotiations, the council shall advise and work with the chair in the performance of his/her duties.
Bargaining Unit Council Chair Duties
The Chair shall: Be responsible for all matters affecting his/her membership concerning wages, hours and working conditions; Consult with the Bargaining Unit Council; Chair all meetings of the Bargaining Unit Council.
Bargaining Unit Council Vice-Chair Duties
The Vice-Chair shall: Assist the Chair in the performance of his/her duties; Replace the Chair in the event of a temporary or permanent vacancy; and Serve on the Board of Directors.
