The final meeting of the year by the CSU Board of Trustees left no doubt that CSUEU members will need to come together as never before in order to win equitable salaries that include salary steps. The CSU’s state budget request for next year, approved by the Board on Nov. 19, ignores Gov. Newsom’s instruction for the CSU to correct the salary inversion of CSU support staff and reinstate salary steps that were taken away more than 20 years ago. In fact, the trustees’ 2020-21 budget request for salaries is $8 million below what the trustees requested last year! At the same meeting trustees also approved a new policy that will make it easier to increase campus president salaries. 'The CSU board continues to demonstrate poor leadership in setting policies that benefit one tier of employees – the top tier – while disregarding everyone else,” said CSUEU President Neil Jacklin. “The Governor and the Legislature have all said the same thing - repair the salary system. Make no mistake: Our members will push forward to win what we deserve in our contract.” Boost our collective strength by signing up , or renewing your CSUEU membership today! Read Gov.
